Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has started Amrit Brikshya Andolan Yojana to make the state green and provide financial assistance to the citizens. Through this scheme, the citizens of the state will be encouraged to plant trees. This scheme will be run in the entire state. Due to this scheme, the citizens of the state will be given an amount of Rs 100 per plant at the time of planting and after that the state government will also pay Rs 200 per plant to the beneficiaries if the plants survive for 3 years.
