Lakshmi Bhandar Yojana has been started by the Government of West Bengal to strengthen the status of women in the state and make them self-dependent. Under which, to provide basic income support to the women heads of the family, the government will provide Rs 500 per month to the general category families and Rs 1000 per month to the SC / ST families. About 1.6 crore families of the state will be benefited by this scheme.

This scheme has been launched keeping in view the monthly average consumption expenditure of a family of the state which is Rupees 5249. The financial assistance provided through which 10% to 20% of the monthly expenses of the beneficiary will be covered. The assistance amount given to take advantage of the scheme will be deposited in the bank account of the beneficiary.  

Total budget of the scheme

Under this scheme every household of SC and ST community will be covered and for general category also the government has fixed the eligibility criteria. The government has allocated a budget of Rs 12900 crore for this scheme. The implementation of Lakshmi Bhandar Yojana has been started from 1st July 2021. In which the West Bengal government already has a database of 33 lakh women beneficiaries of social security schemes. In which these women can be bought immediately under Direct Benefit Transfer. For the remaining families, applications will be sought by the government. Beneficiaries Will Get Financial Assistance From 1st September 2021

Laxmi Bhandar Yojana has been started by the state government to provide financial assistance. Under which Rs 500 will be provided to the women of general category. Rs 1000 will be given to SC and ST category beneficiaries. In order to give the benefit of the scheme to the eligible beneficiaries, the government has decided to provide financial assistance from 1st September 2021. Women who do not have permanent job in private and government sector, they will get the benefit of this scheme.

Apart from this, casual workers will also be able to take advantage of this scheme. Any citizen of the state will be able to apply for the West Bengal Laxmi Bhandar Yojana through various government camps organized across the state. These camps have been organized from 16 August 2021 to 15 September 2021, in which applications are being accepted for this scheme.

Even if a beneficiary receives Lakshmi Bhandar card on 20 October 2021, he will be provided assistance under the scheme from September 2021 itself.

The Government can increase the Duare Sarkaar Camps whenever necessary.

WB Lakshmi Bhandar Yojana New Form Leads In The Second Phase Of Duare Sarkar

The Government of West Bengal has organized the second phase of Duare Sarkar Project Camp. In which the citizens of the state will be provided an opportunity to apply under various schemes being provided by the State Government of West Bengal. In the first 2 days of this project, 18500 camps were organized in which total 2902049 people participated.

Under this scheme, it has been decided to provide assistance of ₹ 500 per month to the female head of a normal family and ₹ 1000 monthly income to the women of scheduled caste or scheduled tribe families.

So far, more than 60% applications for Laxmi Bhandar Yojana have been received through Duare Sarkar Project Camp.
