Odisha government has started Swatantra Yuba Udyami Yojana to make the citizens of the state self-reliant. This scheme is also known as SWAYAM. Through this scheme, young men and women in the age group of 18 to 35 years of the state who are unemployed or underemployed will be provided interest free bank loans up to Rs 1 lakh to start a business. In addition to the 85% loan guarantee already provided to micro and small firms, the state government will also provide 15% loan guarantee through the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE).
The entire burden of interest on the loan will be borne by the state government. The loan amount received for the scheme will be deposited in the bank account of the applicant.
