Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched the Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme to make the women of the state self-reliant. Under this scheme, women of the state will be deposited Rs 1,250 in their bank accounts every month. With this, 17 lakh women of the state will get financial help. This scheme has been implemented in the entire state, so that the benefits of the scheme can reach the eligible beneficiaries. The benefit of Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme will be provided to the eligible women of the state on the basis of their qualification and eligibility. Starting the scheme, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that – “Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme is being run for the benefit of women, through which women get financial assistance so that they can meet the economic expenses of their families.”

• The bigger edition of Orunodoi has been launched to ensure benefits to the vulnerable and underprivileged families of the state.

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of the state of Assam.

• The annual income of the applicant’s family should be less than Rs.2 lakh.
• Priority will be given to widows, divorced, unmarried women in the scheme.
• Families in which any member is dwarf or suffering from Cerebral Palsy, ASD and more will also be covered under this scheme.
• Those who have some movable or immovable assets including land, big houses, vehicles, electronic gadgets and most government and semi-government employees will be excluded from the scheme.
